Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of molecular diagnostic tests, including but not limited to PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and sequencing, ensuring precise and accurate results.
- Implement and rigorously monitor quality control procedures to ensure all laboratory activities comply with regulatory standards and maintain high-quality performance.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, conducting regular checks to guarantee optimal functionality and prevent malfunctions.
- Enter and meticulously manage data in laboratory information management systems (LIMS), ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information and laboratory data.
- Work collaboratively with other laboratory staff, clinicians, and researchers, fostering a cooperative environment and facilitating the smooth exchange of information and expertise.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines, actively participating in safety training and drills to maintain a secure and compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., ASCP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a molecular diagnostics laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and sequencing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Perform repetitive tasks with precision, stand for extended periods, and execute manual dexterity tasks in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Handle hazardous chemicals and biological materials safely, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Work occasional evenings or weekends to meet testing needs and deadlines, ensuring flexibility for urgent projects.
