Tell us about yourself and what you enjoy most about your job at Cordlife?

I like working on new things and projects, which is why I enjoy working at Cordlife, where things are always moving and changing in a positive way, and we’re never sitting still.

Tell us about a recent project you worked on or a pleasant encounter you had with a colleague.

We recently received an alert on one of our regional country’s application servers, so we immediately gathered team members from five different countries across multiple departments to address it. Despite the fact that it was an impromptu and complex task, we were able to come together quickly and resolve it within a day. The camaraderie and collaboration are built on mutual trust and respect, that results from working as a cohesive team rather than independently.

Tell us about yourself and what you enjoy most about your job at Cordlife?

I received a Cordlife scholarship in 2014 and completed my poly attachment with them. After my national service, I worked for them as a CRM developer for about a year before going to NTU to get my degree. I joined them as a solution architect after graduation, and I've been here for almost two years. My journey here has been fulfilling, and I'm learning something new every day. My coworkers are supportive and nurturing, and the workplace culture at Cordlife gives me a sense of ownership and motivates me to grow with them.

What inspired you to return to Cordlife after your graduation?

When I was an intern, the team was always on the lookout for new technologies to boost productivity and meet business needs, and they still are. I find it rewarding to work in a progressive culture with a regional team.

What is your favourite thing about Cordlife’s office culture?

I like that our office has an open concept, where we can all sit in one big room and freely communicate with one another. This makes it easier to reconnect with a co-worker now that many companies adopt a hybrid style of work, which creates a more relaxed atmosphere in the office.

How would you describe this internship experience to others?

It was definitely not quite what I expected from an internship; I thought that an intern would have been treated differently. However, the experience was the opposite of what I thought, and it was a fun and memorable one instead. Overall, as my first job experience, I found it to be a great learning experience for office jobs, and I am looking forward to working a similar job in the future.
